One Flat Plane and Nothing Else
The Fresno is the quietest door we make. No brace, no lite, no reveal, no applied trim. A single flush plane of solid wood with a long pull and a black track, and that is the whole vocabulary. Everything the door has to say, it says with grain and proportion.
That leaves nowhere to hide. On a braced or paneled door, a mediocre board can sit in the middle of the field and nobody notices. Here the face is the design, so the boards are selected and laid up for a continuous run of figure across the full width of the slab.
It belongs in a midcentury room, but it belongs anywhere the architecture is already doing the talking. Against a plain wall it reads as a warm rectangle. Against a busy one it settles everything down.
Design Details
Continuous Flush Face
No stiles, no rails, no visible joinery on the front. The slab presents as one uninterrupted plane from edge to edge.
Grain Laid Up on Purpose
Boards are matched across the width so the figure carries through rather than stopping at every seam. It is the only ornament this door has.
Long Vertical Pull
The hardware is the one line on the face. A tall slim pull keeps the proportion vertical and the door reading taller than it is.
A Quiet Room’s Door
Nothing here competes with tile, art or architecture. This is the door you choose when the rest of the room is already handled.
Flat Is Harder Than It Looks
Any door can be flat on the day it is delivered. Staying flat through ten winters of dry indoor heat is the harder problem, and a flush slab shows every bit of movement. We build these solid, in Pipersville, Pennsylvania, out of properly dried wood rather than veneer over MDF, and we stand behind the panel staying true for as long as you own the door.
