Absolutely stunning door. The craftsmanship is incredible — you can feel the weight and quality the moment it arrives. Installed it in our master bedroom and it completely transformed the space.

Worth every penny. We were nervous ordering a custom door online but the team walked us through measuring and the door fit perfectly. Hardware included was a huge bonus.

Beautiful door, great quality wood. Delivery took about 3 weeks which was within the estimate. Only wish they had more stain color samples available to ship.

Ribbing, Scaled Up

Fluting is fine, reeding is fine, but both are small. The Modern Ribbed takes the same idea and enlarges it: broader ribs, shallower profile, spaced so the face reads as corduroy rather than as pinstripe. From across a room you see texture. From arm’s length you see wood.

That change of scale is what makes it work on a big opening. Hung as a bypass pair across a wide passage, as shown, fine reeding would vibrate and get busy. These ribs hold their line at ten feet and still have something to say at ten inches.

The lower band is worked at a different rhythm from the field above it, which grounds the door and keeps a tall panel from reading like wallpaper.

Design Details

Wide, Shallow Ribs

Sized to hold their pattern at a distance. The face reads as texture from across the room instead of dissolving into noise.

A Grounded Lower Band

The bottom of the door changes rhythm, giving a tall slab a visible base and stopping the vertical run from feeling endless.

Built for Wide Openings

This is a pattern that scales. On a double opening the ribs carry across both panels without the seam becoming the loudest thing in the room.

Soft in Neutral Tones

In a warm neutral finish the ribbing throws gentle shadow rather than hard lines, which suits a bedroom or a bath better than a high contrast face would.

A Wide Door Has More Room to Go Wrong

Width is the enemy of flatness. The wider the slab, the more leverage seasonal movement has on it, and a ribbed face only adds to the imbalance between front and back. We build these solid in Pipersville, Pennsylvania, using stock chosen for stability, and every one carries our lifetime warranty against warping. Hollow core doors at this size do not survive a decade of dry winters.

How to Measure Your Opening

A few quick measurements and we build your door to fit perfectly.

Measure the Width

Measure across the opening with the trim included. If there is no trim, measure just the width of the opening itself.

Measure the Height

Measure the total height of the opening including the trim. If there is no trim, measure just the height of the opening.

Leave Room for Hardware

Allow at least 6″ of clearance above the opening (or above the trim) for the track hardware. Bypass doors need a minimum of 9″.

We Handle the Coverage

No trim? We add 4″ to the width (2″ each side) and 1″ to the height for proper coverage. With trim, we build the door to extend slightly past it.
