Absolutely stunning door. The craftsmanship is incredible — you can feel the weight and quality the moment it arrives. Installed it in our master bedroom and it completely transformed the space.

Worth every penny. We were nervous ordering a custom door online but the team walked us through measuring and the door fit perfectly. Hardware included was a huge bonus.

Beautiful door, great quality wood. Delivery took about 3 weeks which was within the estimate. Only wish they had more stain color samples available to ship.

An Arch Where a Header Should Be

Almost every sliding door is a rectangle, because almost every opening is. The Arched Glass door puts a curve at the top of each panel anyway, glazing the arch and bracing the solid field beneath it with a wide X. The result is a door that suggests a masonry opening in a wall that does not have one.

The arch is cut, not applied. That means the head rail of each panel is shaped stock, and the muntins inside the lite are cut to follow the curve rather than dying into it at an angle. It is slow, careful work and it is the difference between an arched door and a door with an arch drawn on it.

As a pair, as shown in white, the two arches meet at the center seam and read as a single wide opening. Hung on a black flat track, the contrast between the soft curve above and the hard X below is the point.

Design Details

A True Cut Arch

The curve is shaped into the head of the panel. The muntin bars are cut to follow it, so the geometry inside the lite is honest to the arch above.

Glazed Above, Braced Below

Light comes through the arched lite. Structure sits underneath it, in the form of a full width X across the solid lower field.

Arches Meet at the Seam

On a double opening the two curves form one continuous arched head, which is why this door is worth ordering as a pair.

Painted for Contrast

In white against black hardware the arch reads as a drawn line. The door looks architectural rather than rustic despite the bracing.

Choosing Your Glass

The arched lites can take any of our glass styles. Acid etched frosts the arch into a soft glowing shape, which is the most dramatic option and the most private. Rain runs vertical ripples that stop against the curve of the head. Reamy has the wavy irregularity of old window glass and is the most historically sympathetic choice for an arched opening. Aquatex pebbles the light without hiding what is behind it. Choose yours in the configurator above before adding the door to your cart.

Curves Are Where Shops Cut Corners

A shaped head is expensive in time and in wasted stock, which is why most arched doors on the market are square doors with a curved trim piece glued on. We cut ours from solid wood in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, one door at a time, and it carries the same lifetime warranty as everything else that leaves the bench.

How to Measure Your Opening

A few quick measurements and we build your door to fit perfectly.

Header / ceilingDoor opening6″ minclearanceHEIGHTWIDTH
1

Measure the Width

Measure across the opening with the trim included. If there is no trim, measure just the width of the opening itself.

2

Measure the Height

Measure the total height of the opening including the trim. If there is no trim, measure just the height of the opening.

3

Leave Room for Hardware

Allow at least 6″ of clearance above the opening (or above the trim) for the track hardware. Bypass doors need a minimum of 9″.

4

We Handle the Coverage

No trim? We add 4″ to the width (2″ each side) and 1″ to the height for proper coverage. With trim, we build the door to extend slightly past it.
