A Single Pane, Floor to Head
One lite. No muntins, no grid, no divisions. The Single Lite fills a stained wood frame with one uninterrupted panel of textured glass running from the top rail to the bottom, and there is nothing else to look at.
Reeded or rain glass in an opening this size does something specific: it becomes a column of light in the room, and the shapes moving behind it turn into color rather than detail. On the version shown, the vertical texture of the glass echoes the vertical grain of the frame, and the whole door has one direction to it.
It is the simplest glazed door we make and, for a dark hallway or an interior bath, usually the most effective one.
Design Details
One Uninterrupted Lite
A single pane fills the frame. Nothing crosses it, which is why the door reads as a plane of light rather than as a window.
Slim Stained Frame
Just enough wood to carry the glass. The frame is finished, not painted, so the grain stays part of the composition.
Texture Does the Work
With no grid to look at, the character of the glass becomes the character of the door. This is the door to choose your glass carefully on.
Vertical Emphasis
Reeded and rain textures run with the height of the door, which makes a standard opening feel taller than it measures.
Choosing Your Glass
This door is glazed with a single large lite, so the glass style is the entire design decision. Rain is shown here and is the strongest choice, running unbroken vertical ripples the full height of the door. Acid etched gives a flat frosted panel and the most complete privacy, which suits a bathroom. Reamy pools and waves across a pane this large in a way that a small lite cannot show off. Aquatex pebbles the light evenly and reads quietest of the four. Select yours in the configurator above.
One Large Pane, No Margin for Error
A single tall lite gives the frame nothing to brace against. There is no muntin in the middle holding it square, so the corner joinery is doing all of it. We build these from solid wood in Pipersville, Pennsylvania, square them before glazing, and back the frame with our lifetime warranty against warping and twisting.
